My storeID results with no Products Found
Added by Billie Hawkins about 1 year ago
I've seen that there are a couple other complaints on this issue. I was hoping that this had been resolved?
The Slug [mp-cafepress] results in: No products found
Troubleshooting items:
Plugin Settings:
- License Key Entered (paid for it today, green checkmark)
- CafePress API: I have two. The first one I had for over three months, and one I just created.
- - Both seem to work as I get no error when generating XML.
- Store ID:
- - my store ID is billiehawkins
- - http://www.cafepress.com/billiehawkins works
Cafepress Store setting:
Navigating to http://members.cafepress.com/stores/store_edit_info.aspx
- - "Private - Please do not list this shop in your directory, or let search engines index it." is NOT checked. I presume this is how you make a site public; I have always had this setting as is.
Steps to resolve:
- - I have tried your demo API, and both of my API keys. No change.
- - When I enter the store ID of billiehawkins in the setting , No Products Found
- - When I enter the store ID of cybersprocket in the setting , No Products Found
- - When I leave the store ID blank, products show up as expected.
- - When I leave the store ID blank in the setting, and specify in the slug [mp-cafepress store_id="billiehawkins"]No Products Found
- - When I leave the store ID blank in the setting, and specify in the slug [mp-cafepress store_id="cybersprocket"], Products show up as expected
I have an active link of http://soniq.org/soniq-t-shirt-shop/
This is a WP page that has 3 slugs in it, with debug on, and Store ID in the Plugin as billiehawkins .
[mp-cafepress]
[mp-cafepress store_id="billiehawkins"]
[mp-cafepress store_id="cybersprocket"]
I would hope that this can be resolved, as I cannot see any solution from your howto articles.

Make sure you have the store setup properly. Section setup is important, as noted on the last few posts on this thread:

We're hoping to get an update out to address some of these issues within the next few weeks, that may help simplify the process a bit.

Per your link, it appears the answer was:

We found the problem and it's amazing we've been chasing something this simple for since June 2010.
I'm surprised this isn't documented on your site but trust form here forward no one else will have this problem.
Slashdraw was using "sections" to build their home page and the "products" area was empty._
Simply put, you don't support 'Sections' yet?
Well, That's not gonna work. I have over 242 'sections' in my store.

Has anyone resolved this yet? The remark above mine is not clear.
What information do I need to enter into the sections field? Do I need to create a wordpress category called products? No answer obtained yet and this is getting frustrating.

@Billie - yes, the product supports sections. We just tested a premium store and you can select a section as both a global default (admin panel MoneyPress : CafePress Edition Settings) and in the shortcode itself [mp-cafepress section_id='99999'].
In fact with a premium account you MUST specify a section ID.

Billie - I am unable to get products to come up from your store ID as well, even using your API key.
Are you running in beta mode at CafePress by any chance? That setting does not appear on our account so I can't tell you where to find it, but other clients are on the pre-release program and NONE of the CafePress API calls work on the beta system.
The sad part is CafePress has been promising an API update for 11 months now & we're still waiting. It would fix some of these product lookup issues.
Check your account profile at CafePress and make sure you are not on a beta release.

I have not signed up for anything 'beta' - all I can find on beta services is:
CafePress Shops (BETA)
The retail prices for products featured in your CafePress Shop are fixed and determined by CafePress. If you choose to receive royalties for products sold through your CafePress Shop the royalty rate is 10% of the retail price paid by the consumer. Certain products are not available in through CafePress Shops. CafePress Shops sales are not eligible for the Shop Performance Bonus and are not featured in the CafePress Marketplace.
I am not a part of that. I just have a normal Premier shop.
